Nestled in the 500-year-old historic city of Old San Juan, the elegance of Casa Colonial is the ideal basecamp to explore Old San Juan history, restaurants, shopping, and nightlife. Casa Colonial is a unique 3-level single-family residence. The home features 6-rooms, 5.5 bathrooms, living and grand dining area with a private rooftop terrace overlooking Old San Juan’s Bay. Please know this property does not have any TV’s throughout the house. This property has all the charm and flavor of the traditional Spanish Colonial architecture of Old San Juan. Its original marble floors, high ceilings, wood beams, large Spanish windows, exposed rich in texture and classic decor makes it the ideal home away from home.

Casa Colonial neighborhood is pedestrian-friendly and rich in culture. Its proximity to the San Juan Bay allows for breathtaking ocean and sunset views, historical sites such as Castillo San Felipe del Morro, Castillo San Cristobal, and La Fortaleza.

PLEASE NOTE: This property does not have air conditioning in common areas, only in bedrooms. Also house does not have any TV’s. 



1) PRE-ARRIVAL COVID TESTING: The current executive order by the Government states that every person traveling to Puerto Rico during the pandemic should arrive with a negative COVID-19 test result or will have to take a COVID-19 test at the airport. Travelers with positive test results will have to stay at their rented property for the duration of their stay, or 14 days. The test result has to be from no more than 72 hours prior to arrival on the island.
2) COMMON AREAS – GENERAL MESSAGE FOR THE ENTIRE ISLAND: Some common areas in many communities around the island are still closed – or with limited capacity – due to COVID-19. This could include pools, tennis courts, and children parks. Please reach out to us prior to booking if you would like to know the status of common areas. 
3) MASKS: Masks are mandatory when in public and in all common areas. Please be ready to travel with and bring masks for your stay. 
4) CLEANING PROCEDURES: We have updated our cleaning procedures to include industry best practices in response to COVID-19. We are using disinfectant cleaning products on all surfaces and are programming a 24 hour gap between check-outs and check-ins. Our cleaning staff wears PPE during the entire cleaning and disinfecting process. 


Enter the apartment and you are greeted with a stunning antique library and lounge area where you can grab a book or two. Its high cathedral ceilings and traditional Spanish colonial structure make it a great reading nook to relax. Double doors windows that you can completely open to the street or leave closed to let in sunlight and breeze. This floor also leads to the majestic staircase which takes you to all the bedrooms.



There are 6 bedrooms in Casa Colonial. Two bedrooms on each floor. The upper level has two bedrooms, each with its own queen bed and full-size bathroom. The middle ground has two spacious bedrooms, each with its own queen bed and on-suite bathroom. Finally, the lower level has one master bedroom with a queen bed and a guest room with a full-size bed – these bedrooms share a bathroom. All bedrooms have air conditioning.



Casa Colonial features an entire floor dedicated to a full-size catering kitchen with a grand 10 seater dining table and spacious center island. The kitchen and dining table are located adjacent to each other, making it the perfect atmosphere for you and your group to enjoy the perfect supper. There is a coffee maker, kettle, stovetop, toaster oven, microwave, and fridge. You’ll have enough paper towels, trash bags, and dish soap for guests to comfortably start their stay.    

In the kitchen, there is a door that leads to the rooftop terrace, where you and your group will have the luxury to savor the al-fresco lounging and dining areas, stainless steel barbecue while soaking up the breathtaking ocean and sunset views.


Staying in Old San Juan is a truly unique experience filled with charm and character. From Casa Colonial, you can comfortably walk anywhere within Old San Juan. The apartment is located on one of the quieter streets but still steps away from all the action. We recommend taking a cab from the airport and using Uber or taxi while you stay at Old San Juan. Renting a car is not necessary unless you are planning on road tripping. This is a truly walkable location with everything you need a short walk away. The apartment does not include parking. Nonetheless, there are convenient parking lots close to the apartment.  

There are many things to do in the surrounding areas, here are some of our favorites, all within walking distance:

  • Explore the El Morro Fort. There are daily tours of the fort and the large green areas have spectacular ocean views. Take a tour, have a picnic, and fly a kite. This is a must-do.
  • Explore the iconic Calle San Sebastian nightlife. There is a large assortment of bars on this strip which is a favorite among locals on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
  • Breakfast at “La Bombonera”. This is a Puerto Rican landmark well known for its locally inspired breakfast and pastries.
  • Savor Stuffed Avocado. Healthy and “trendy” spot where you can create your own avocado bowl.
  • Take a stroll around “Paseo La Princesa”, a waterfront walkway which you can start off at El Morro and finish of the walk with a rum tasting at Princesa Gastrobar at the end of the trail.



West Indies strives to deliver top-notch service and amenities to guarantee our guests feel at home while visiting our properties. All of our properties are outfitted with freshly laundered bed linens and towels. We provide 2 bath towels per guest and 1 beach/pool towel per guest. Our properties typically include at least 2 beach chairs and an ice cooler.

West Indies provides the disposable amenities necessary to get your vacation off to a comfortable start. These amenities include 1 set of hotel size soaps and shampoos per bathroom, 3 garbage bags, 2 rolls of paper towel, 2 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, 1 dish soap, 1 dish sponge, and a small amount of laundry detergent. We do not provide unlimited disposable amenities. It is your responsibility to review what is included in the property and stock with whatever else may be needed for the duration of your stay. 



  • Check-in time is at 4:00 pm
  • Check-out time is at 11:00 am
  • NO SMOKING: Smoking is strictly prohibited. A smoking fee of $500 will be charged if violated.
  • NO PETS: No pets are allowed at any time. A $300 fine will be charged if violated and you will be expelled from the property.
  • The host will not pay for a hotel, vacation rental, or transportation expenses incurred because of an interruption in water or electrical service.  If water or electricity is interrupted for more than 3 hours, guests have the option of canceling their reservation and requesting a refund for the nights not used. Under no circumstances will we refund consumed nights.
  • All bookings are contingent on signing a short term rental agreement that will be sent via email. It must be signed within 48 hours of booking or before entering the property, whichever happens first.
  • Maximum occupancy of 12 adults/children at all times. This includes visitors. 
  • Max. occupancy is strictly enforced and exceeding it may result in immediate cancellation of booking or being expelled from the property.    
  • Towels and linens must only be used for their intended purpose. Do not stain them with food, grease or any other substance. Do not use towels to clean up any mess. Stained towels/linens will be charged. 
  • Do not hang towels from the balcony or windows. A $100 fine may be applied if you break this rule. 
  • Subletting not allowed
